Pete Pattisson on Whitefoot Lane

Cllr Pete Pattisson is appalled the repairs have taken so long

Residents of Whitefoot Lane will finally see their road resurfaced and repaired by 2010 - eight years after Labour-run Lewisham Council began the job.

Following questions tabled by Liberal Democrat councillors, Lewisham Council revealed that the final section of Whitefoot Lane is due to be resurfaced in 2009/10, whilst the first batch of repairs began in March 2002.

Whitefoot Liberal Democrat Councillor Dan Houghton said, "Ever since I was elected I have been badgering the Council to get the road surface on Whitefoot Lane improved - it looks like something out of the Gaza Strip. I appreciate that not all of the work could have been programmed into one year but eight years is taking the biscuit!"

Cllr Pete Pattisson added, "This just shows how out-of-touch and inefficient Labour-run Lewisham is - Whitefoot Lane really is the Road To Hell!"
