Simon Hughes and Alex Feakes are backing the 10:10 campaign

Alex Feakes, Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Lewisham West & Penge, has been joined by popular MP Simon Hughes in congratulating Lewisham Council on signing up to the 10:10 campaign to reduce carbon emissions. Simon Hughes is the Liberal Democrats' Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.

Lewisham signed up after a meeting of the Council on Thursday evening unanimously endorsed a Lib Dem sponsored motion to join the campaign to cut carbon emissions by 10% by the end of 2010.

"I'm delighted that Lewisham has signed up to the 10:10 campaign - this is concrete action to tackle climate change," said Alex.
