Tam has been selected to stand against Labour at the general election
Lewisham Liberal Democrats have selected Tamora Langley as their prospective parliamentary candidate for Lewisham Deptford at the general election.
Tam is known as one of the leading campaigners in the country, and has won eight awards in the last year for her successful campaigns. These include successfully defending NHS services, helping to raise over £300,00 for University of Sussex work to save the honey bee and fighting for effective ways to cut crime.
Tam is also a trustee of the Twins and Multiple Births Association.
Tam says, "Everyone round here is saying that Labour takes them for granted, and that only the Liberal Democrats can beat them. We came second in 2005 and from my conversations with local residents I think we can do even better at the next General Election.
"We've already started fighting to make Lewisham fairer, greener and safer, starting with a petition to save trains from Crofton Park.
"I urge people to join our campaign at listentolewisham.org and let me know your ideas for sorting out Lewisham."
