Local residents are angry that the council is repeating its mistakes
A blunder by Labour-run Lewisham Council has given a phone company the go-ahead to erect a phone mast beside Forster Park… again!
This is the second time the Council's Planning Service has failed to comply with planning regulations within the required period. In April 2006, a similar mistake gave the green light to install the existing mast at the Whitefoot Lane entrance to Forster Park.
Cllr Pete Pattisson says, "It's bad enough that the Council got it wrong once, but to make the same mistake twice shows a total disregard for local people. Forster Park is a beautiful public space, but now local residents will have to walk through an arch of phone masts to reach it. It's time this Labour-run Council put people before paperwork. I am urging the Council to appeal the decision, and keep local residents informed."
